expo-2012--flyerSponsors, vendors, used tack sellers, donors, horse lovers and the community are invited to participate in the 2nd annual Saratoga Horse & Tack Expo hosted by the New York Horse Park.  Join us in a celebration of the world of horses.  We are again having covered vendor, used tack sale, not-for-profit and organization areas on the lower level of the Grandstand, give-aways, a silent auction, raffles of donated items/gift certificates and a "fun activities" area for the kids.  This year we are expanding all of these activities and adding a breed parade, a carriage parade, on track demos of a variety of Western, English and other equine activities, and pony rides for the kids.

Guy McLean, Master Horseman and award winning Outback Poet from Australia and the 2011 "Road to the Horse" Co- Champion, will again be our headliner.  He will be doing three shows each day, including 'starting" a young horse on Saturday  and completing the process on Sunday.

This year there will also be an Saratoga Horse & Tack Expo Program listing our sponsors, donors and vendors, the layout of the booths and tables in the Grandstand area, the schedule of on track events and other presentations and space for b&w or color advertisements.

Admission: $5 for adults, $10 for a family of four and children under 12 free.  Food vendors will be available and parking is free.

Imagine a Place...A horse park makes
good "cents" for New York State.

A horse park is a multi-million dollar economic engine that preserves green space and provides an educational, recreational and competition venue for horse enthusiasts.

New York Horse Park Inc., a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, needs your support to bring this exciting initiative from concept to reality. Currently, funds are needed for promotional and educational materials, for a site selection feasibility study and for future fund-raising and community awareness events. As the project moves forward we will need funds to acquire the land, prepare architectural plans and construct the facility.

If you are interested in helping this project move forward, please contact the NYHP Board of Directors for more information.Click here to download a full powerpoint presentation.

Our Mission

The Mission of the New York Horse Park, Inc. (NYHP) is to provide competitive, recreational and learning opportunities for youth and adults while respecting and caring for the environment; to preserve the rural, equestrian and agricultural character of the surrounding areas; and to provide a premier international, national and regional equestrian exhibition facility complementing upstate New York State's rich and historic involvement in equine activities.

Our Vision

Print

The Vision of the New York Horse Park, Inc. is of a large, multi-use, state-of-the-art facility capable of attracting regional, national and international competitors/competitions. It will be another jewel in upstate New York's growing crown of international attractions: a world class destination for tourists and families as well as horse people, complete with a covered arena capable of seating thousands of spectators to allow for year-round showing. Indoor polo, horse sales, equine-assisted activities for individuals with disabilities and other equine/equestrian and agriculturally related events will also be able to call the New York Horse Park home.

Our vision also includes two (or more) regulation-size dressage rings to accommodate the needs of ridden and driven dressage competitions, a grand-prix jumping course, a cross-country course, a marathon course for driving competitions, a steeplechase course, 3-4 warm up rings for 3-4 outdoor arenas (some equipped with lighting for night showing) and trailheads or connections to existing trails in the area. Additionally, we envision a place where retired Thoroughbreds, Standardbreds and/or polo ponies will be housed. An equine sports medicine and rehabilitation center as well as a possbile future connection with an educational institution for equine-related studies may also be a part of the New York Horse Park's offerings.
