A horse park makes good "cents" for New York State.
A horse park is a multi-million dollar economic engine that preserves green space and provides a new educational, recreational and competition venue for horse enthusiasts. The New York Horse Park, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation, needs your support to bring this exciting initiative from concept to reality. Currently, funds are needed for promotional and educational materials, for a site selection feasibility study and for future fund-raising and community awareness events. As the project moves forward we will need funds to acquire the land, prepare architectural plans and construct the facility. If you are interested in helping this project move forward, please contact the NYHP Board of Directors for more information. Click here to download a full powerpoint presentation. |

The Mission of the New York Horse Park, Inc. (NYHP) is to provide competitive, recreational and learning opportunities for youth and adults while respecting and caring for the environment; to preserve the rural, equestrian and agricultural character of the surrounding areas; and to provide a premier international, national and regional equestrian exhibition facility complementing upstate New York State’s rich and historic involvement in equine activities. |

The Vision of the New York Horse Park, Inc. is of a large, multi-use, state-of-the-art facility capable of attracting regional, national and international competitors/competitions. It will be another jewel in upstate New York’s growing crown of international attractions: a world class destination for tourists and families as well as horse people, complete with a covered arena capable of seating thousands of spectators to allow for year-round showing. Indoor polo, horse sales, other equestrian, para-equestrian and agriculturally related events will also be able to call the New York Horse Park home.
Our vision also includes two (or more) regulation-size dressage rings to accommodate the needs of ridden and driven dressage competitions, a grand-prix jumping course, a cross-country course, a marathon course for driving competitions, a steeplechase course, 3-4 warm up rings for 3-4 outdoor arenas (some equipped with lighting for night showing) and trailheads or connections to existing trails in the area. Additionally, we envision a place where retired thoroughbreds, standardbreds and/or polo ponies will be housed. An equine sports medicine and rehabilitation center as well as a possbile future connection with an educational institution for equine-related studies may also be a part of the New York Horse Park's offerings. MAKE THE DREAM REAL! |
